about me

about me

I grew up doing all sorts of sports (football, mountainbiking, ice hockey, skiing, etc.) but without any particular focus or training. When I started climbing back in 1996, I ran on trails around home to keep me fit.
Since then I travel around and love to be in the mountains. In 2003 I managed to climb as hard as 8b and run my first and only road marathon just for fun. Although running on road was not for me. So I looked for trail races.
Since then I run more trails than I climb rocks. In 2005 I ran and finished my first Ultra (and actually my first trail race ever) and was hooked to running longer distances on trails. 2006 I got into UTMB and gave it a shot without knowing much about what I was doing. 2007, I finished UTMB and began to actually train for it.
In 2011, I won my first 100 Mile Race.
Since then running trails (trail races) is just the perfect excuse to experience new places and get to know other people...
